3 in custody after fatal shooting in Poughkeepsie
Inis Amigon, 44, of Poughkeepsie, died after being shot in the chest, and two others were wounded in the incident on Main Street early Saturday.
POUGHKEEPSIE – Three people were shot, one fatally, near a restaurant in the 400 block of Main Street in the city of Poughkeepsie early Saturday morning, and three suspects, all from Newburgh, have been charged in the incident, authorities said.
The dead man was identified by city police as Inis Amigon, 44, of Poughkeepsie, who was shot once in the chest and died a short time later at Saint Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie after the 3:24 a.m. shooting.
Two other Poughkeepsie residents, a 24-year-old woman who was shot in the right knee, and a 29-year-old man who was shot in the right calf, were admitted to the hospital. The wounded man was listed in serious condition, police said.
Police were called to the area of 452 Main St. in the area of El Molino Restaurant, where they found the victims.
One suspect, Armando Martinez, 20, of Newburgh, was charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon, both felonies.
A second suspect, Aladdin Sanchez, 22, of Newburgh, was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, a felony.
The third suspect in the vehicle in which they were stopped, Jonathan Ramrez, 20, also of Newburgh, was charged with misdemeanor weapon possession.
An investigation into the motive behind the shooting is continuing.
