Roosevelt pair hit milestones in victory

Allison Pritchard scored her 1000th point and Ashley Merritt dropped 48points in a win over New Paltz Friday.

HYDE PARK » Allison Pritchard hit a milestone 1000th career point and Ashley Merrit scored 48 points as Roosevelt completed a 101-69 rout of New Paltz Friday in Mid-Hudson Athletic League action.

Pritchard, who is committed to Binghamton University to play softball, earned her 1000th point on a driving basket in the third quarter. She finished the day with 22 points.

Ashley Merritt had the biggest offensive outburst on the day by far, falling just short of the half century mark in the Presidents win. She knocked down 11 threepoint shots in the win.

Wallkill High’s girls rolled to their ninth win in a row, defeating Highland.

Rachel Simon had 15 points and five steals, Chelsea Murphy added 14 points and six steals and Jenna Lee scored 13 points to pace the (12-2) Panthers.
