Mrs. Renate M. Haduniak of Tillson, formerly of Glen Spey, N.Y., died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2015, at Vassar Brothers Hospital, Poughkeeps­ie. She was 80.

She was born April 28, 1934, in Hultschin, Germany, the daughter of the late Walter and the late Elsie Kolonko Pautsch.

Renate was married to Yaro Michael Haduniak, who died on Jan. 9, 1987.

She worked for Bright Star Industries, a flashlight manufactur­er in Clifton, N.J.

She was a member of the Lumberland Senior Citizens Club, where she was honored as the 2000 Senior Citizen of the Year, and the Rosendale Senior Citizens Club. She was a past member of the German Club, Shohola, Pa.

A family statement read: She enjoyed cooking, gardening and baking. Her family and friends always looked forward to traditiona­l homemade dinners and desserts whenever they were together. She was a very talented seamstress, who also enjoyed crocheting and knitting things for family and friends. She was called often for advice on cooking and other household dilemmas. She knew a little about everything, and would always have an idea. Her advice will be dearly missed by many.

Surviving are a son, Roman Haduniak, Lancaster, Pa., and daughter, Larysa Kinder and her husband Claus, Cottekill; her beloved granddaugh­ter, Alexandra Kinder; two nieces, Tetiana Cymbal and Ulana Semenuik and their families; one nephew, George Hirniak and family; several nieces and nephews in Germany; and her faithful companion, her dog, Gizmo.

She was predecease­d by her two sisters, Edith Nebel & Herta Hirniak.

A memorial visitation will be held at Gray-Parker Funeral Home Inc., 100 East Main St., Port Jervis, on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2015, from 10 a.m. to noon.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2015, at noon at GrayParker Funeral Home Inc., with the Rev. George Lagrutta officiatin­g.
