Two area residents — Lauren Decker of Staatsburg and Alexis Otero of Germantown — graduated from Hofstra University in Hempstead, with bachelor of business administration degrees.
Decker majored in marketing. Otero majored in legal studies in business.
Danielle C. DeLisio of Woodstock was named to the president’s list at Siena College in Loudonville for the fall semester, with a 4.0 grade point average.
A senior, she is majoring in psychology. She is also a goalie for the Siena woman’s lacrosse team.
Carly Canavan of Kingston, a student at Franklin Pierce University in Rindge, N.H., received a 4.0 grade point average in her honors health science program,
A freshman, she was also named ot the Northeast 10 Field Hockey All-Star Rookie Team. She was named her college’s scholar-athlete and was Rookie of the Week twice during the field hockey season.
She is the daughter of Robert and Linda Canavan of Kingston.
Maleda Funk of Saugerties was named to the dean’s list with honors at the College at Brockport for the fall semester.
Students earn dean’s list with honors status by achieving a grade point average from 3.7to 3.99.
Funk is a dual major in dance and physical education teaching kindergarten to 12th grade. She is the president of the Physical Education Majors Club, vice president of Phi Epsilon Kappa, the honor society for physical education majors and vice president of the Tau Sigma National Honor Society. She is also a student dance organization member and company member of both Danscore and the Chamber Ballet.
