Phyllis Kastner, 94, of Lawrencevi­lle Street, died Wednesday, May 6, 2015, at The Pines Center for Nursing and Rehabilita­tion at Catskill.

Born July 6, 1920, in Kingston, she is the daughter of the late Robert and Marion (Cain) Hogan.

Phyllis was employed in the Communicat­ion Division at IBM in Poughkeeps­ie and Kingston until her retirement in 1982. She was a longtime volunteer at Kingston Hospital, a former member of the Clinton Avenue United Methodist Church, and a former resident of Sarasota, Fla. While residing in Florida, she was a fan of the Atlanta Braves. When she returned to New York, she became a New York Yankees fan.

Surviving are her daughter, Linda (Glass) and her husband Eric Steinmille­r of Kingston; sisters, Helen Potter and Marion Mitchell and her husband Jean, both of Kingston; daughter-in-law, Karen Buchanan of Al-ligerville; grandchild­ren, Lisa Glass and her husband Patrick, Lori Valdes, Lainie Wolven (Gueneviere), Lynn Hamilton, Jodie Meyer, Robert Buchanan and his wife Casey. Phyllis is survived by many great-grandchild­ren, great-great-grandchild­ren, nieces and nephews.

She was the wife of the late Frederick Buchanan. A son, Robert Buchanan, and two brothers, Robert and Ronald Hogan, also died previously.

Funeral and cremation arrangemen­ts are under the guidance of Joseph V. Leahy Funeral Home Inc., 27 Smith Ave., Kingston (www.jvleahyfh.com).

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. A service will take place at 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Darlene Kelly officiatin­g. Expression­s of sympathy in lieu of flowers may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105.
