Ellenville races past Spackenkil­l

Tyrique Wooten was a triple winner for Ellenville boys track team as it ran away with a MidHudson Athletic League win over Spackenkil­l.

Wooten took first in the high jump, 110-meter hurdles and triple jump, and also placed second in the 400 hurdles. Chris Kovalcik won the shot put and discus for Ellenville and Wesley Cruz was also a double winner for the Blue Devils, taking the 800 and mile races.

Joe Hughes took two events for Roosevelt as they easily handled Red Hook.

The Presidents had eight different individual winners on the day. Markese Shelby, Evan Qatani, Dino Martinez and Bovin Odhiambo each won an individual event and took part in a winning relay.

The Kilubas were mostly what stood in the way of a Roosevelt sweep, with Tim Kiluba winning the 100 and long jump, and Jeff Kiluba taking the 400 hurdles. Red Hook’s other winner was Patrick Mullen-Mechtly in the pole vault.
