Marlborough
· DWI: Amber L. Powell, 34, of Poughkeepsie, was arrested by state police at Highland at Baileys Gap Road in Marlborough and charged with the misdemeanors of driving with a blood-alcohol level exceeding 0.08percent and drunken driving and with traffic infractions. Powell was released with tickets for Marlborough Town Court.
Town of Ulster
· Possession of a forged instrument/criminal impersonation: Franklyn Martinez, 25, of Passaic, N.J., was arrested by town of Ulster police at 3:56p.m. Tuesday and charged with two felony counts of possession of a forged instrument and one misdemeanor count of criminal impersonation. Police said Martinez used a forged New Jersey driver’s license as identification to buy a cell phone and cell service from the AT&T store, 1137Ulster Avenue, town of Ulster. Martinez was sent to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $5,000bail.
· Criminal contempt: Richard M. Jarvis, 27, of Accord, was arrested by town of Ulster police at 5:42p.m. Tuesday after a dispute in the Toys-R-Us store, 401Frank Sottile Blvd., town of Ulster, and charged with criminal contempt, a misdemeanor. Jarvis was having a dispute with an individual holding an order of protection against him, police said. Jarvis was sent to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $5,000bail.
· Drugs: Tiare K. Strudler, 47, of Kingston, was arrested by Ulster County Sheriff’s deputies at about 10:45p.m. Saturday on state Route 28in the town of Ulster and charged with misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance and traffic infractions. Police discovered crack cocaine in Strudler’s possession after he was stopped for an equipment violation, they said. She was released with tickets for Ulster Town Court.
· Drugs: Bryant A. Jacob, 26, of Saugerties, was arrested by Ulster County Sheriff’s deputies at about 2:35a.m. Saturday on U.S. Route 209 in the town of Ulster and charged with the misdemeanors of possession of a controlled substance (heroin) and possession of a hypodermic instrument. Police said Jacob was a passenger in a vehicle stopped for a moving violation and was in possession of heroin and hypodermic needles. Jacob was released with tickets for Ulster Town Court.
· Shoplifting: Shyrlei Masson, 59, of Red Hook, was arrested by town of Ulster police at 5:28p.m. Tuesday and charged with two misdemeanor counts of petit larceny. Masson is accused of shoplifting $376worth of merchandise from the Kohl’s store, 800Miron Lane, on Tuesday, and with shoplifting an additional $176.50worth of merchandise on March 23. Masson was released with tickets for Ulster Town Court.
Wawarsing
· Drugs/theft of services: Michael J. Grimm, 32, and Amanda K. Sarles, 38, both of Woodbourne, were arrested by Ulster County Sheriff’s deputies. Grimm was charged with the misdemeanors of possession of a hypodermic instrument and two counts of aggravated unlicensed driving. Sarles was charged with theft of services, petit larceny and conspiracy, all misdemeanors. The arrests followed a complaint from a motel regarding guests that failed to pay for their stay and removed a cable box from the room, police said. On Tuesday, deputies attempting to find Grimm saw him driving despite having revoked and suspended driving privileges. Contact was made with Sarles who surrendered to deputies, police said. Grim was sent to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $2,500bail. Sarles was released with tickets for Wawarsing Town Court.
