Two charged after heroin found in truck axle
Authorities have arrested two men who were caught hiding more than 65 pounds of heroin in the axle of a tractor-trailer.
Thirty-three-year-old Jorge Ayala of Greenwich, Connecticut, and 47-yearold Fernando Quiles of Fort Worth, Texas, were arrested Tuesday near a home they rented in Croton-on-Hudson in Westchester County.
Investigators say the drugs are thought to have originated in Mexico and authorities believe the men were going to sell the drugs for up to $2.3 million to dealers across the region.
Police say the men rented a large home on a private wooded lot that they had chosen as a spot to park their truck and stash drugs.
