Lois Ann Kupec, 81, of Kingston
Lois Ann Kupec, 81, of Kingston, died Friday, Aug. 26, 2016, at Golden Hill Health Care and Rehabilitation Center.
Born in Schenectady, N.Y., she was a daughter of the late Stephen and Ethel Cowles Hall.
Lois went to St. Mary’s Hospital Nursing Academy (class of 1956) and was a family practice nurse for many years, and she was always amused at how often she had to apply her nursing skills and knowledge with her children and eventually her grandchildren.
Lois was a parishioner of St. Joseph Church, where she was also a member of the Rosary Society. She was a founding member of the Wiltwyck Quilters Guild and worked on the Bicentennial Quilt. She was a PTA officer and volunteered at People’s Place, Children’s Rehabilitation Center and the City Library. Lois 30 Elderhostels throughout the United States.
Besides her quilting and charitable work, Lois was renowned for her love of family, a good book, her writing, and a laughterfilled meal with family and friends.
Lois is survived by three children, Stephen J. Kupec and his wife Amelia of Cedar Park, Texas, Amy M. Larue and her partner, Winoc Deleplanque, of Suresnes, France, and Christopher W. Kupec and his wife Anique of Big Indian, N.Y.; and seven grandchildren, Kathryn and Sean Kupec, Theo, Owen and Madeleine Larue, Anouchka and Lila Deleplanque.
In addition to her parents, Lois was predeceased by her loving husband, George W. Kupec (married to him for 55 years) who passed in 2011; a brother, Stephen C. Hall; a sister, E. Beth (Hall) Sinclair; and a sonin-law, Sylvain Larue.
Home, 411 Albany Ave., on Monday, Aug. 29, 2016, from 4 to 7 p.m.
Friends and family are invited to meet at St. Joseph’s Church Tuesday at 10 a.m., where a funeral Mass will be celebrated.
