Julia Ziegler, 89, of Saugerties

Julia Ziegler, 89, of Route 212, died Thursday, Sept. 22, 2016, at her residence. Born Feb. 23, 1927, in the Bronx, she was the daughter of the late Luigi and Maria Zannon DelFranco. An area resident for many years, she was a former employee of F.L. Russell Paper Corporation for over 20 years. Besides her work, taking care of her family and shopping was her passion. Julia was predeceased by her husband, Charles E. Ziegler.

Survivors include one son, Thomas J. Ziegler of Summerville, S.C.; four daughters: Kathy (Robert) Denter, Marie (Dave) Drescher, Marcia Ziegler and her companion, Chris Albano,

and Lori Ziegler; and 14 grandchildren: Billy Leonardi, Jason and Laurie Buerkle, Dejah Babcock, Jacqueline McMickle, TJ Ziegler, Stacey Rezy, Tom and Michael Denter, Lisa Marie Drescher Fallon, Buddy and Salina VanGaasbeck, Joe and Eric Sciutto. Twenty greatgrandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Julie Buerkle, and a brother, Thomas DelFranco.

Friends will be received Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home Inc., corner of John and Lafayette streets. Her funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. Family suggests donations in her memory be made to the American Diabetes Association or Support Our Servicemen, P.O. Box 592, Glasco, N.Y. 12432.
