Two small planes collide, killing three
Officials say three people have been killed following an air collision and crash of two small planes just south of Buffalo.
The Federal Aviation Administration said the crash happened around 9:30 a.m. Sunday in North Collins, New York. One of the planes was a Cessna 120; the other was a Piper PA-28.
Erie County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Scott Zylka said two people were on one plane, and one person on the other. He declined to give additional details.
Authorities believe the planes departed from nearby Hamburg Airport.
Two people were also killed in New Jersey on Sunday when a small plane crashed. The FAA says the craft stalled while trying to land at Sky Manor Airport in Alexandria Township.
The FAA will investigate both crashes.
