Fall Health Fair at hospital on Oct. 7
Exhibitors offering preventive healthcare, medical screenings and education on a variety of health, wellness and lifestyle improvements will participate in Margaretville Hospital’s Fall Health Fair from 7 to 11 a.m. Oct. 7 at the hospital, 42084 state Route 28.
Attendees can receive flu shots with no appointment. Medicare insurance will cover the cost of the flu shots for attendees enrolled in Medicare. For those with no insurance, the charge will be $31.
The fair will also provide free screenings. Screenings will include balance assessments to help assess fall risks, blood pressure screenings, bone density tests to check for possible osteoporosis, cholesterol screening (this test requires 10 to 12 hours of fasting beforehand — no food or drink except for water), pulse oximetry to detect blood oxygen levels, and pulmonary function testing to see how well your lungs take in and exhale air.
