Fall Health Fair at hospital on Oct. 7

Exhibitors offering preventive healthcare, medical screenings and education on a variety of health, wellness and lifestyle improvemen­ts will participat­e in Margaretvi­lle Hospital’s Fall Health Fair from 7 to 11 a.m. Oct. 7 at the hospital, 42084 state Route 28.

Attendees can receive flu shots with no appointmen­t. Medicare insurance will cover the cost of the flu shots for attendees enrolled in Medicare. For those with no insurance, the charge will be $31.

The fair will also provide free screenings. Screenings will include balance assessment­s to help assess fall risks, blood pressure screenings, bone density tests to check for possible osteoporos­is, cholestero­l screening (this test requires 10 to 12 hours of fasting beforehand — no food or drink except for water), pulse oximetry to detect blood oxygen levels, and pulmonary function testing to see how well your lungs take in and exhale air.
