16U Fillies go 4-1 at Syracuse tourney

Tori Decker went 3-0, leading the Kingston American Legion Post 150 Ulster Fillies 16-and-under softball squad to a 4-1 record at the recent Onondaga CCC Invitation­al.

In victories over the TC Tremors 18U (11-1), Sports Zone 18U (20-0) and Hazen’s Blue 18U (8-2), Decker allowed one earned run on eight hits, with 12 strikeouts, over 15 innings.

Shannon Bonewit, meanwhile, went 1-1 — including an 8-4 win over the Conklin Raiders 16U and an 8-2 loss to the Conklin Raiders 18U Gold Elite — allowing four earned runs on 12 hits, with 15 strikeouts, over 14 innings. Megan Peace struck out five in four innings of scoreless relief.

Leading hitters for the Fillies in the tournament were Jessica Chilcott (home run, triple, double, eight singles, eight RBI), Bonewit (two triples, double, five singles, five RBI), Ashley DeKraai (double, eight singles, four RBI), Alyssa Finno (home run, triple, double, four singles, four RBI), Sydney Bonewit (five singles, four RBI), Decker (three doubles), Kailey Collins (two triples), Alex Mckearin (triple, two singles), Claire Filak (two doubles, two singles), Peace (five RBI) and Vanessa Brandt (double, single).
