Onteora chalks up win over Coxsackie-Athens

Corey Chun scored two goals, one in the sixth minute and another in the 23rd minute on an Emily Downs assist, as Onteora blanked Coxsackie-Athens, 3-0, in a non-league girls field hockey contest Saturday.

Allison Kim, scored the game’s only other goal on a Violet Waring assist seven minutes into the second half.

Baileigh Griese had one save for the (2-2-1) Eagles, while Mary Keller recorded nine for the Indians.

“It was our homecoming game, and we came out strong and dominated most of the game,” Onteora Head Coach Nicole Murphy said. “Our defense, Ryan Wright and Hailey Maineri, kept the ball out of the circle to keep them at only one shot on goal.”
