Mar­i­lyn Jean Odell Piney, 75, of Kingston

KINGSTON >> Mar­i­lyn Jean Odell Piney, 75, a life­long res­i­dent of Kingston, died Sun­day, Sept. 25, 2016, at Golden Hill Nurs­ing and Re­ha­bil­i­ta­tion Cen­ter.

Born in Kingston, she was a daugh­ter of the late Ull­man Odell and Gertrude Shoe­maker Au­gus­tine, and the step­daugh­ter of the late Joseph Au­gus­tine.

Mar­i­lyn grad­u­ated from Kingston High School. She later mar­ried Fer­nando Piney and moved to Hyde Park, N.Y. She was a home­maker in Hyde Park, where she raised her chil­dren. Mar­i­lyn loved coun­try mu­sic, movies, do­ing crossword puz­zles and read­ing, es­pe­cially the Bi­ble. She also loved to visit Walt Dis­ney World, her fa­vorite place on Earth.

Mar­i­lyn is sur­vived by her four chil­dren, Dar­ryl Piney and his fi­ancée Leigh Coomes of Cairo, N.Y., Richard Piney and his wife Roseann of Hyde Park, Ed­ward Piney and his wife Melissa of Con­necti­cut, Denise Piney-Perez and her hus­band Ar­turo Perez of Sara­sota, Fla.; six sib­lings, Carol Scarselli and her hus­band, Tony, Fran Tyler and her hus­band Doug, James Au­gus­tine, Bon­nie Au­gus­tine and her hus­band Dou­glas Nikki, and Mar­jorie Zei­gler and her hus­band Henry; and step­broth­ers, Bernard Au­gus­tine and Sylvester Au­gus­tine. Seven grand­chil­dren, Stephanie, Kyle, Justin, Kody, Ash­ley, Colleen, Gabriel, and many nieces and neph­ews also sur­vive.

In ad­di­tion to her par­ents, Mar­i­lyn was pre­de­ceased by a sis­ter, Ger­tude Yerry, and a brother, Joseph Au­gus­tine.

Mar­i­lyn will be re­pos­ing at Simp­son-Gaus Fu­neral Home, 411 Al­bany Ave., on Wed­nes­day, Sept. 28, 2016 from 10 a.m. to noon.

A fu­neral ser­vice will fol­low at noon at the fu­neral home, with Rev. Miroslaw Pawlaczyk, from Im­mac­u­late Con­cep­tion Church, of­fi­ci­at­ing.

In­ter­ment will fol­low in Mount Cal­vary Ceme­tery.
