Stab­bing lands man in hospi­tal, woman in jail

An 18-year-old West Hur­ley woman was ar­rested about 13 hours af­ter al­legedly stab­bing an 18-year-old man dur­ing a fight on Lin­coln Street in the city, Kingston po­lice said Wednes­day.

Su­san Mas­tro­vin­cenzo of Pine Street, West Hur­ley, was charged with felony as­sault, ac­cord­ing to po­lice and court of­fi­cials.

The in­ci­dent was re­ported about 1:30 a.m. Wednes­day af­ter a dis­pute es­ca­lated into a fight, po­lice said. When of­fi­cers ar­rived, they were met by peo­ple who were pre­par­ing to take the vic­tim to HealthAl­l­liance Hospi­tal’s Broad­way Cam­pus, po­lice said.

The vic­tim, whose name was not pro­vided by, later was trans­ferred to the Al­bany Med­i­cal Cen­ter, where he was treated for a stab wound to the ab­domen and re­mained in sta­ble con­di­tion Wednes­day af­ter­noon, po­lice said.

Po­lice said the weapon, be­lieved to have been a knife, had not been re­cov­ered as of Wednes­day af­ter­noon.

Mas­tro­vin­cenzo was ar­raigned in Kingston City Court and sent to the Ul­ster County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail, ac­cord­ing to Ni­cole Mur­phy, the chief clerk at Kingston City Court.
