Stabbing lands man in hospital, woman in jail

An 18-year-old West Hurley woman was arrested about 13 hours after allegedly stabbing an 18-year-old man during a fight on Lincoln Street in the city, Kingston police said Wednesday.

Susan Mastrovinc­enzo of Pine Street, West Hurley, was charged with felony assault, according to police and court officials.

The incident was reported about 1:30 a.m. Wednesday after a dispute escalated into a fight, police said. When officers arrived, they were met by people who were preparing to take the victim to HealthAlll­iance Hospital’s Broadway Campus, police said.

The victim, whose name was not provided by, later was transferre­d to the Albany Medical Center, where he was treated for a stab wound to the abdomen and remained in stable condition Wednesday afternoon, police said.

Police said the weapon, believed to have been a knife, had not been recovered as of Wednesday afternoon.

Mastrovinc­enzo was arraigned in Kingston City Court and sent to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail, according to Nicole Murphy, the chief clerk at Kingston City Court.
