Roo­sevelt High beat Pough­keep­sie 6-0 for its sev­enth win in eight games in a Mid-Hud­son Ath­letic League soc­cer match. The Pres­i­dents ex­ploded for four goals in five min­utes start­ing in the 28th minute.

The Pres­i­dents ex­ploded for four goals in five min­utes start­ing with Bran­don Gra­cias in the 28th minute. Ethan Hart, as­sisted by Bryan Steiger­wald scored in the 30th minute be­fore Gra­cias scored again one minute later, on a Markese Shelby as­sist.

Steiger­wald added a fourth in the 33rd minute on an as­sist from Fer­nado Lau­re­les. Ethan Hart added an­other in 38th minute as­sisted by Nick Hul­ton be­fore An­gel Ocampo scored his first ca­reer goal on an Ethan Hart as­sist in the 69th minute.

Ryan Diehl had four saves for the (7-2) Pres­i­dents.

At El­lenville, af­ter a score­less first half, the Devils went on the at­tack scor­ing four goals in four min­utes.

Rylie Lake on a Wes Cruz as­sist and Wes Cruz as­sisted by Lu­cas Berger scored goals less than 20 sec­onds apart in the 55th minute to give El­lenville a 2-0 edge. Two min­utes later Kyle Guiney, as­sisted by Matt Lamen­dola scored be­fore Lake added a goal on a Cruz as­sist two min­utes later.

Jose Cruz, on a Tiler Fer­en­theil as­sist, added the Devils’ fi­nal goal in the 80th minute.

“We played with much more en­ergy, pur­pose and free­dom in the sec­ond half,” El­lenville Head Coach Maxwell Mead said. “We had a lot more en­ergy and just went at them.”

El­lenville dom­i­nated the (0-7-2) War­riors 24-4 in shots on goal.

Daniel Ma­hany recorded three saves for the (6-3 over­all, 5-3 MHAL) Devils while Thomas Stephanopou­los had 9 for We­bu­tuck. Spack­enkill 4, Dover 0

At Pough­keep­sie, the Spar­tans shut out the Dragons to clinch Divi­sion III.

Af­ter 20 score­less min­utes Travis Klipp scored Spack­enkill’s first goal. An­drew Mor­eira, as­sisted by Jake Kaufman added an­other in the 26th minute be­fore Klipp, on a Kalen McGin­ley scored three min­utes later. Vik­tor Drasny scored the fi­nal goal on a Klipp as­sist in the 35th minute.

The Spar­tans led Dover 16-2 in shots on goal.

Quinn McGin­nis had two saves for (8-1, 6-0) Spack­enkill, while An­thony DeRosa had 11 for the Dragons. Marl­boro 1, High­land 1

At Marl­boro, Wal­ter Espinoza scored his first goal of the sea­son for the Dukes.

Af­ter a score­less first half, Noah Babineau scored as the Huskies struck first.

Jawad Haidaoui had nine stops for (1-7-2) Marl­boro while Dy­lan War­ren recorded 12 for High­land. Cole­man 4, Mill­brook 1

At Mill­brook, Bran­don Daven­port scored twice to lead the (8-4, 7-3) States­men.

Quil­lan Ri­ley had a goal and an as­sist, while Jair Mau­tone rounded the Cole­man scor­ing with a goal. Daniel Shults, mean­while, made nine saves in the win.

Alex Censi scored the lone goal for the Blaz­ers, while An­drew Radovic stopped six shots in the loss.
