Torres gets first exemption berth in Bowlers Club event

Finals scheduled for April 23, 2017

Eddie Torres has earned the first exemption for the championship finals of the Robert Sinnott All-State Insurance Bowlers Club Tournament.

Torres defeated Scott Weaver 248-225 in the first club’s first qualifying event.

The finals are scheduled for April 23, 2017.

Torres edged both Cal Rider 209-201 and John Nolterieke 234-230 to make the finals of the September qualifier.

Weaver reached the finals by beating Al Hotaling 266-195 and Dan Palm 206-195.

In the quarterfinals, Nolterieke defeated Damion Ferraro 299-216 and Palm downed C.J. Jansen 215-190.

Hotaling led the qualifying with a 759 with handicap.

Torres and Ferraro both qualified with 747 and 720 scratch series. Other qualifiers with handicap were Nolterieke (726), Palm (724), Jansen (723), Rider (709) and Weaver (701).
