WHAT: Fundraiser concert and community gathering
WHEN: Oct. 22, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. and the concert starting at 7 p.m.
WHERE: Studley Theater, Old Main Building, on the SUNY New Paltz campus, 1 Hawk Drive, New Paltz
DETAILS: Following the oneyear anniversary of the suicide of New Paltz teen Maya Gold, the Maya Gold Foundation is presenting its second major fundraiser concert and community gathering. The concert will feature Natalie Merchant and Friends. Among the performers will be Amy Helm, Elizabeth Mitchell, Simi Stone, Rachel Loshak, Gail Ann Dorsey and Uri Sharlin. Orchestra seating is $50 and balcony seating is $40. Advance tickets are highly recommended. The concert is suitable for people of all ages. Children and teens are encouraged to attend. The Maya Gold Foundation’s goal is to empower youth to access their inner wisdom and realize their dreams. Proceeds from the event and all donations to the foundation will go toward programs and resources to help support youngsters in New Paltz area and will also be channeled to carefully vetted non-governmental organizations in Nepal that provide essentials to children in need.
