Frederick Peter Miller, 89, of Hurley
HURLEY >> Frederick Peter Miller, 89, of Sunset Terrace, Hurley, died Sunday, Oct. 2, 2016, at his home. Born March 27, 1927, in Newburgh, he was the son of the late Frederick W. and Sarah Elizabeth (Joy) Miller.
Mr. Miller served during World War II in the U.S. Army. He was a 35year employee of IBM, working in Poughkeepsie, Kingston, Armonk and Boulder, Colo., and retiring as project manager of Global Business Group Security. He was a former member of the Kingston Kiwanis Club and Kingston Council 275, Knights of Columbus, and enjoyed golfing and fishing.
Surviving are his wife of over 64 years, Margaret F. (Feye) Miller; his children, John Miller and his wife Karen of Hurley, Kathy Moore and her husband Donald of Gales Ferry, Conn., and Daniel Miller and his wife Rachel of Hurley; his grandchildren, Dr. Daniel Miller and his wife Kara of Stone Ridge, Michael Miller (Shana Quigley) of Hurley, Ryan Moore (Mikaela Rando) of Washington D.C., Todd Moore of Ledyard, Connecticut, and Erik Moore of Washington, D.C.; and his great-grandchildren, Michaela Miller and Gabrielle Miller.
His daughter, Barbara Miller Maxwell; and sisters, Nancy Jankowski, Josephine Stratton and Frances McCumber, all died previously.
Funeral arrangements are under the guidance of Joseph V. Leahy Funeral Home Inc., 27 Smith Ave., Kingston (www.jvleahyfh.com). Friends and family will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. A funeral procession will form at 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church. Burial will be in Hurley Cemetery.
