KINGSTON >> Jill Beth Sleed, age 56, a resident of Kingston, N.Y., formerly of Baldwin, N.Y., passed away Friday, Sept. 30, 2016, at Kingston Hospital.

Jill is survived by her mother, Judith Sleed; sister, Jodie Sleed; brother, Jeff Sleed; and niece and nephews, Nate Parrenti, Mathew Parrenti, Jordan Sleed and McCartney Sleed.

She was predecease­d by her father, Joel Sleed; her grandparen­ts: Roman Sleed and Ethel Sleed; step-grandmothe­r, Bella Galsky, and Margit and Peter Weinberger of Budapest.

Jill was born in New York City on Oct. 3, 1959, to Judy and Joel Sleed.

Jill was a graduate of Baldwin High School in 1977. Jill was educated in the Baldwin School System in New York. Jill was an active member of the Kingston, N.Y., community, always extending kindness to those she came in touch with. She attended support services designed for the mentally challenged, making new friends, colleagues and became a roll model. She was loved by all. Jill went on to pursue her artistic creativity, writing music and lyrics, poetry, drawing, painting, sewing, and pottery. She will be deeply missed by her friends, family, and all who knew her. Her influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her. A simple service celebratin­g Jill Sleed’s life will be held at Keyser Funeral Home, 326 Albany Ave., Kingston, N.Y., 12401, Thursday, Oct. 6, 2016, from 2 to 4:30 p.m., with a service beginning at 3 p.m. with Rabbi Johnathan Kligler and the Rev. Peter Blum. The family asks that a contributi­on be made in Jill Sleed’s name to the Mental Health Associatio­n in Ulster County, P.O.
