City of Kingston

· Weapon: Ulysse D. Pierre, 36, of Brigham Lane, Lake Katrine, was arrested by city police on Aug. 24 and was charged with misdemeano­r criminal possession of a weapon. Pierre’s arrest followed a phone call reporting a suspicious person in the area of Post Street, police said. Pierre was found with a switchblad­e knife, according to police. Further informatio­n was unavailabl­e.

Lloyd

· Grand larceny: Jamal M. Franklin, 32, of Highland, was arrested by Lloyd police on Friday and charged with grand larceny, a felony, and with making a false written statement and falsely reporting an incident, both misdemeano­rs. Franklin is accused of cashing his Internal Revenue Service tax rebate check and then reporting it stolen. He was arraigned in Lloyd Town Court and sent to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail pending a court appearance on Thursday.

· DWI: Tanyetta C. Merritt, 43, of Poughkeeps­ie, was arrested by Lloyd police on Friday and was charged with drunken driving and aggravated drunken driving, both felonies, after the vehicle she was driving struck a telephone pole on Chapel Hill Road in Highland. Merritt was released with a ticket and was taken to a local hospital for evaluation, police said. She is due back in Lloyd Town Court on Thursday.

Red Hook

· DWI: Dennis R. Anderson, 69, of Rhinebeck, was arrested by Red Hook police at 11:53 a.m. Sunday on North Broadway in the village of Red Hook and was charged with two misdemeano­r counts of drunken driving. Anderson’s arrest followed a 911 call reporting an erratic driver. After stopping Anderson, police said they found he had a blood-alcohol content of 0.17 percent, more than twice the legal limit. He was released with a ticket for Red Hook Town Court.
