The fol­low­ing items are based on in­for­ma­tion pro­vided by of­fi­cials in law en­force­ment and the crim­i­nal jus­tice sys­tem.

City of Kingston

· Weapon: Ulysse D. Pierre, 36, of Brigham Lane, Lake Katrine, was ar­rested by city po­lice on Aug. 24 and was charged with mis­de­meanor crim­i­nal pos­ses­sion of a weapon. Pierre’s ar­rest fol­lowed a phone call re­port­ing a sus­pi­cious per­son in the area of Post Street, po­lice said. Pierre was found with a switch­blade knife, ac­cord­ing to po­lice. Fur­ther in­for­ma­tion was un­avail­able.

Lloyd

· Grand lar­ceny: Ja­mal M. Franklin, 32, of High­land, was ar­rested by Lloyd po­lice on Fri­day and charged with grand lar­ceny, a felony, and with mak­ing a false writ­ten state­ment and falsely re­port­ing an in­ci­dent, both mis­de­meanors. Franklin is ac­cused of cash­ing his In­ter­nal Rev­enue Ser­vice tax re­bate check and then re­port­ing it stolen. He was ar­raigned in Lloyd Town Court and sent to the Ul­ster County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail pend­ing a court ap­pear­ance on Thurs­day.

· DWI: Tanyetta C. Mer­ritt, 43, of Pough­keep­sie, was ar­rested by Lloyd po­lice on Fri­day and was charged with drunken driv­ing and ag­gra­vated drunken driv­ing, both felonies, af­ter the ve­hi­cle she was driv­ing struck a tele­phone pole on Chapel Hill Road in High­land. Mer­ritt was re­leased with a ticket and was taken to a lo­cal hospi­tal for eval­u­a­tion, po­lice said. She is due back in Lloyd Town Court on Thurs­day.

Red Hook

· DWI: Den­nis R. An­der­son, 69, of Rhinebeck, was ar­rested by Red Hook po­lice at 11:53 a.m. Sun­day on North Broad­way in the vil­lage of Red Hook and was charged with two mis­de­meanor counts of drunken driv­ing. An­der­son’s ar­rest fol­lowed a 911 call re­port­ing an er­ratic driver. Af­ter stop­ping An­der­son, po­lice said they found he had a blood-al­co­hol con­tent of 0.17 per­cent, more than twice the le­gal limit. He was re­leased with a ticket for Red Hook Town Court.
