Kingston swims to easy win over Valley Central

Kingston High improved to 8-1 with a 102-79 victory over Valley Central in an Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association girls swimming and diving meet. The Tigers won all but four events.

Kingston High improved to 8-1 with a 102-79 victory over Valley Central in an Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association girls swimming and diving meet at Kate Walton Field House.

The Tigers prevailed in all but four events en route to the easy win.

“The girls really put the pedal to the medal and didn’t let up,” Kingston coach Chris Sammons said.

Taylor Robey and Kelly Manley each won two individual events to lead the Tigers. Robey was first in the 50-yard (27.29) and 100 (1:00.09) freestyles, while Manley captured the 100 butterfly (1:07.55) and 100 backstroke (1:10.06).

In addition, Manley joined Isabella Amaro, Bailey Shaffer and Helen Wunderlich to capture the 200 medley relay (2:02.51).

Alli Mitchell took the 200 individual medley (2:24.68) for Kingston, while Sabrina Browning, Julia Stinemire and Jalynn Harrison swept the top three spots in diving.

Allison Armistead won two events (100 breastroke, 500 freestyle) for the (6-5) Vikings.
