Roger Vincent Palazzo, 93, of Sun City Center, Florida, died peacefully Sept. 30, 2016.

He was born on April 3, 1923, in Corona, N.Y., to Aleo and Elizabeth (Asterino) Palazzo.

He was a graduate of Newton High School. In 1942 he joined the U.S. Army and served during World War II. His career included working as a machinist at R. Hoe and Company in the Bronx, N.Y. After he retired and moved to Florida in 1978, he worked for the U.S. Postal Service of Sun City Center. In his leisure time he was an avid golfer, belonged to the Ruskin Elks Lodge #2672, and was a volunteer firefighte­r for the Sun City Center Fire Department. On June 5, 1943, he married the love of his life, Anna Marino in Corona, N.Y. She preceded him in death in March of 1995.

He is survived by two sons, Roger (Ellen) of Rockville Centre, N.Y., and William (Yaeko) of Poughkeeps­ie, N.Y.; three daughters, Elizabeth Peyton (Robert) of Sun City Center, Roberta McKay (Beth) of Eureka, CA, and Anna Brett (Kenneth) of Kingston, N.Y.; eight grandchild­ren; two great-grandchild­ren; and his dear friend, Barbara Warner of Sun City Center.
