Roger Vin­cent Palazzo, 93, of Sun City Cen­ter, Florida

Roger Vin­cent Palazzo, 93, of Sun City Cen­ter, Florida, died peace­fully Sept. 30, 2016.

He was born on April 3, 1923, in Corona, N.Y., to Aleo and Elizabeth (As­terino) Palazzo.

He was a grad­u­ate of New­ton High School. In 1942 he joined the U.S. Army and served dur­ing World War II. His ca­reer in­cluded work­ing as a ma­chin­ist at R. Hoe and Com­pany in the Bronx, N.Y. Af­ter he re­tired and moved to Florida in 1978, he worked for the U.S. Postal Ser­vice of Sun City Cen­ter. In his leisure time he was an avid golfer, be­longed to the Ruskin Elks Lodge #2672, and was a vol­un­teer fire­fighter for the Sun City Cen­ter Fire De­part­ment. On June 5, 1943, he mar­ried the love of his life, Anna Marino in Corona, N.Y. She pre­ceded him in death in March of 1995.

He is sur­vived by two sons, Roger (Ellen) of Rockville Cen­tre, N.Y., and William (Yaeko) of Pough­keep­sie, N.Y.; three daugh­ters, Elizabeth Pey­ton (Robert) of Sun City Cen­ter, Roberta McKay (Beth) of Eureka, CA, and Anna Brett (Ken­neth) of Kingston, N.Y.; eight grand­chil­dren; two great-grand­chil­dren; and his dear friend, Bar­bara Warner of Sun City Cen­ter.
