Kingston medals at Brown Invitational
Kingston High’s Robert Becker and Jayson Hines both placed in the top 10 Saturday in Brown University’s annual High School Invitational cross country race at Maurice K. Goddard State Park.
Becker finished five in the 3.1-mile race in 15:27 and Hines ran a 15:33 to take seventh in the Boys Championship race. Both medaled by placing in the top 20.
Kingston was seventh out of 10 teams with 152 points. Rounding out the Tiger contingent were Aidan Lancer (28th, 16:40), Bailey Burkland-Ryan (59th, 17:36), Johnny Loughlin (61st, 17:47), Bradley Hack (63rd, 17:55) and Gio Melchionne (68th, 18:21).
Kingston’s girls were 17th in a 22-team field in the Varsity Division 2 (large school) race with 363 points. Grace Regan placed 38th in 19:57.97 to lead the Tigers. She was followed by Cindy Jiang (49th, 20:07.03), Maggie Noe (61st, 20:35.25), Autumn Spyhalsky (107th, 21:42.14), Clara Sensini (115th, 21:55.45), Thea Kovaleski (124th, 22:17.09) and Livi Longendyke (135th, 22:54 .84).
The Tigers are back in action next Saturday, hosting their Kingston Fall Festival invitational at the Miller Middle School in Lake Katrine.
