Roosevelt prevails in OT
Bryan Stagz’s goal in the seventh minute of overtime powered Roosevelt High past Arlington B 2-1 in a non-league boys soccer match.
After 64 minutes of scoreless play, Fernando Laureles put the (11-2) Presidents on the board with his first varsity goal before Kyle Traver kicked in the equalizer for the Admirals two minutes later.
Markese Shelby and Brandon Gracias contributed assists in the win for Roosevelt.
“Freshman Fernando Laureles was outstanding the midfield for us, scoring his first varsity goal and creating many chances,” Roosevelt Coach Daniel Hoffay said.
