Accident in New Wind­sor lands driver, pas­sen­ger in ICU

Two peo­ple were ad­mit­ted to a hos­pi­tal in­ten­sive care unit af­ter the car they were in went off a road early Tues­day and landed on top of some construction equip­ment, ac­cord­ing to the New Wind­sor Po­lice Depart­ment.

The accident oc­curred at 4:45 a.m. when a car driven by Quentin Swain, 30, of New Wind­sor, failed to ne­go­ti­ate a turn on Farm­stead Road, town po­lice said. They said the car came to rest on top of construction The scene of Tues­day’s accident equip­ment on the prop­erty at 25 Bloom­ing Grove Turn­pike.

Swain and his fe­male pas­sen­ger, whose name was not pro­vided, were taken to St. Luke’s Hos­pi­tal and ad­mit­ted to the ICU, po­lice said. The na­ture of their in­juries was not dis­closed.

Po­lice did not say what might have caused the accident.
