Ge­orge Os­tran­der Lon­gendyke (65) passed from this life on Oct. 17, 2016.

Born in Kingston March 3, 1951, Ge­orge grew up in Sleights­burg. He is the son of the late Aletha (Dela­van) Lon­gendyke and John Lon­gendyke.

Ge­orge will be missed by his wife, Joan (Kuczyn­ski) Lon­gendyke and his daugh­ter Renée Lon­gendyke. A brother, David Lon­gendyke and his part­ner Wendy Giles, also of Port Ewen, share in our grief.

Ge­orge is also sur­vived by his sib­lings, Aletha, Ed­win, Rawl­son and Richard and is pre­de­ceased by sib­lings, Dolores, Mary, John, Ray­mond, Robert and Shirley. He is also sur­vived by many nieces, neph­ews, his loyal dog Shady and a host of long-time friends.

Ge­orge worked as a pain­ter for many years do­ing busi­ness as G-n-L Paint­ing. He en­joyed his fam­ily, his home and his pets.

Memorial and cre­ma­tion ar­range­ments are un­der the guid­ance of the Joseph V. Leahy Fu­neral Home, Inc. 27 Smith Av­enue in Kingston. Memorial visi­ta­tion will be held Thurs­day even­ing, Oct. 20, 2016, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the fu­neral home. A memorial ser­vice cel­e­brat­ing Ge­orge’s life will start at 7 p.m.
