George Ostrander Longendyke, 65, of Port Ewen

George Ostrander Longendyke (65) passed from this life on Oct. 17, 2016.

Born in Kingston March 3, 1951, George grew up in Sleightsburg. He is the son of the late Aletha (Delavan) Longendyke and John Longendyke.

George will be missed by his wife, Joan (Kuczynski) Longendyke and his daughter Renée Longendyke. A brother, David Longendyke and his partner Wendy Giles, also of Port Ewen, share in our grief.

George is also survived by his siblings, Aletha, Edwin, Rawlson and Richard and is predeceased by siblings, Dolores, Mary, John, Raymond, Robert and Shirley. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, his loyal dog Shady and a host of long-time friends.

George worked as a painter for many years doing business as G-n-L Painting. He enjoyed his family, his home and his pets.

Memorial and cremation arrangements are under the guidance of the Joseph V. Leahy Funeral Home, Inc. 27 Smith Avenue in Kingston. Memorial visitation will be held Thursday evening, Oct. 20, 2016, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. A memorial service celebrating George’s life will start at 7 p.m.
