Opioid crisis forum moved to high school
The location of a forum Wednesday on the local heroin and opioid crisis has been changed to Ellenville High School.
The event, sponsored by the Ulster County Interagency Task Force on Substance Abuse Prevention, is intended to raise awareness and seek solutions.
The event, featuring local service resources and service providers, is scheduled for 5:30 p.m., with speakers beginning at 6 p.m. Childcare will be available.
Participants will be introduced to the realities of the epidemic and be provided with tools necessary to help prevent abuse, recognize its signs, understand the health and legal consequences, get help, and find support to cope with an abuse problem or the loss of a loved one. Experts from Ulster and Sullivan counties representing the medical field, law enforcement, recovery centers and human services organizations and agencies will answer questions.
