Kingston triumphs in regular-season finale

Grace DiMuccio and Emily Baxter scored two goals apiece Monday, propelling Kingston High as it closed out its regular season with an 8-0 Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association girls soccer victory over Middletown.

Faye Higgins had a goal and one assist. Avery Bennett, Jayna Cherny and Zoe Costello also scored for the Tigers. DiMuccio also had an assist. Goalkeeper Kyla Burns stopped a pair of shots to record the shutout for Kingston Jada Rose made nine saves in goal for (0-6 OCIAA, 1-13-1 overall) Middletown.

Kingston finished the regular campaign with a 6-2 mark in the OCIAA’s Division I and is 9-6 overall. The Tigers await Thursday’s Section 9 seeding meeting and the beginning of the postseason.
