Stu­dents at High Meadow School in Stone Ridge had a teddy bear pic­nic Thurs­day on the front porch of the ad­min­is­tra­tion build­ing. The event was a lead-in to ‘Meadow Fest — A Fall Book Fest & Barn Dance,’ which will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Satur­day at the school and in­clude read­ings by Hud­son Val­ley au­thors of books for chil­dren and young adults. There also will be work­shops fea­tur­ing au­thors and il­lus­tra­tors and a barn dance with mu­sic by Mike + Ruthy’s Fam­ily Band. The event is free and open to the pub­lic.
