KHS marching band hosts Fall Fanfare
The Kingston High School Tiger Marching Band’s Fall Fanfare will begin at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23, when the band hosts the New York State Field Band Conference at Dietz Memorial Stadium in Uptown Kingston.
Six marching bands competing for top scores will participate as students present their field shows to judges and spectators.
A show performed by the Kingston High School marching band is expected to fill the stadium, according to organizers said, who advise spectators to arrive early.
Admission is $8 at the gate.
On Saturday, Nov. 12, the Tiger band will participate in the Jam the Van food drive from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at ShopRite supermarket on U.S. Route 9W in the town of Ulster. Band members have been collecting nonperishable food items for local food pantries and will be seeking donations.
