KHS march­ing band hosts Fall Fan­fare

The Kingston High School Tiger March­ing Band’s Fall Fan­fare will be­gin at 12:30 p.m. Sun­day, Oct. 23, when the band hosts the New York State Field Band Con­fer­ence at Di­etz Memo­rial Sta­dium in Up­town Kingston.

Six march­ing bands com­pet­ing for top scores will par­tic­i­pate as stu­dents present their field shows to judges and spec­ta­tors.

A show per­formed by the Kingston High School march­ing band is ex­pected to fill the sta­dium, ac­cord­ing to or­ga­niz­ers said, who ad­vise spec­ta­tors to ar­rive early.

Ad­mis­sion is $8 at the gate.

On Satur­day, Nov. 12, the Tiger band will par­tic­i­pate in the Jam the Van food drive from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Sho­pRite su­per­mar­ket on U.S. Route 9W in the town of Ul­ster. Band mem­bers have been col­lect­ing non­per­ish­able food items for lo­cal food pantries and will be seek­ing do­na­tions.
