Roo­sevelt won for the sec­ond time in a month over Kingston High in foot­ball on Fri­day night, de­feat­ing the Tigers, 21-6, in a Sec­tion 9 crossover game. Kingston fell to 0-8 on the year. The (4-4) Pres­i­dents took con­trol from the be­gin­ning as Eli­jah He­witt re­turned the open­ing kick­off 90 yards for a touch­down. It was the first kick­off re­turn for a score for Roo­sevelt in seven years.

E.J. Bu­dai and Jake Niesen also ran for touch­downs for Roo­sevelt, which had de­feated Kingston, 19-13 in over­time, in the Tigers’ home­com­ing game.

Led by Ni­ju­lan Smith (sack) and De­vante Pave­lock (in­ter­cep­tion), the Pres­i­dents’ de­fense kept Kingston in check for most of the night.

JaVar Tins­ley ran for a touch­down (his fifth of the sea­son) in the fourth quar­ter to avert the shutout for the Tigers.

Both teams will have crossover games again next week.

Pine Plains 7, High­land 0

At Pine Plains, Hunter Parks’ 15-yard in­ter­cep­tion re­turn for a touch­down was the dif­fer­ence in a game de­cided by the Bomber de­fense. Pine Plains/Rhinebeck stopped High­land twice in goalline stands.

Parks rushed 15 times for 105 yards and Matt Beam and Mitchell Hutchins both ran for 70 yards to lead the (2-6) Bombers.

Isiah Daubon passed for 150 yards to pace (2-6) High­land.

Ron­d­out 44, Dover 35

At Dover Plains, Ron­d­out Val­ley out­lasted Dover in a high-scor­ing af­fair. The (5-3) Gan­ders led 3021 at half­time and held off Dover in the fourth quar­ter to win.

Jaquon Futrell rushed for three touch­downs to lead (3-5) Dover be­fore be­ing side­lined in the fi­nal quar­ter by a neck in­jury. Mon­ti­cello 34, El­lenville 6

At Mon­ti­cello, Khadeem Richards ran for 69 yards and a pair of touch­downs to lead the (3-5) Mon­ties. The per­for­mance gave the ju­nior a 1,000-yard sea­son.

El­lenville is now 0-8 on the year.
