Eva Vasquez con­nected on a Kira Pod­mary­er­sky as­sist 11 min­utes into the sec­ond half to give Sauger­ties a 2-1 lead that was all they needed to top On­te­ora in a Mid-Hud­son Ath­letic League girls soccer match Fri­day.

Af­ter just un­der 30 score­less min­utes, Molly Dagett scored on a Han­nah Spoli­jaric as­sist to give the Sawyers a 1-0 lead. Ten min­utes later, though, Hal­lie King kicked in the equal­izer.

Sauger­ties held an 11-6 edge in shots on goal.

Am­ber Ser­rano recorded five saves for Sauger­ties, while Juli­ette Pat­ter­son had eight for the Ea­gles.

Rhinebeck High scored three goals in the first 30 min­utes Satur­day, en­abling the Hawks to de­feat John S. Burke Catholic 3-1 in a Sec­tion 9, Class B boys soccer quar­ter­fi­nal match.

The third-seeded Hawks ad­vance to play at No. 2 Spack­enkill in a noon semi­fi­nal Tues­day.

Nakoa Zuger put Rhinebeck ahead 6:20 into the match. Lex Kron­bich­ler fol­lowed with a goal at the 19th minute. Quinn Graziano made it 3-0 with a penalty kick with 10 min­utes left be­fore half­time. Spack­enkill 1, Marl­boro 0

At Marl­boro, Vik­tor Drasny’s goal 18:35 into the game was the dif­fer­ence as Spack­enkill ad­vanced to the semis.

Quinn McGin­nis and the Spar­tan de­fense kept the Dukes at bay. McGin­nis fin­ished with nine saves, in­clud­ing a big break­away bid to tie with 1:40 left in reg­u­la­tion. Falls­burg 3, El­lenville 0

At Falls­burg, the topseeded Comets got a pair of crit­i­cal goals in a two-minute span mid­way through the sec­ond half to se­cure Satur­day’s quar­ter­fi­nal win over El­lenville.

Kelvin Nunez scored at the 24th minute off a Jonathan La­gos as­sist, then got an unas­sisted tally with 16 min­utes left to play. Luis Romero scored just two min­utes later.

“We played a good first half, but found our­selves down 1-0 at half­time. The sec­ond half was a lot tougher,” ad­mit­ted El­lenville coach Maxwell Mead, whose team beat Ron­d­out in an out­bracket game Fri­day.

“We were tired from yes­ter­day, and I started to see some heavy legs.

“There was a bad missed call lead­ing up to the sec­ond goal and we were not able to re­spond,” Mead said.

“Over­all, Falls­burg played a bet­ter 80 min­utes and de­served to win.”

Falls­burgh out­shot the Blue Devils 19-12. Comet goalie Selvin Brizuela had six saves, while Daniel Ma­hany made seven.

El­lenville fin­ished the sea­son with a 9-8 record. El­lenville 2, Ron­d­out 0

At Ky­serike, Wes Cruz set up goals by Rylie Lake at the 19th minute off a cor­ner kick and then as­sisted Matt La­men­dola’s goal at the 60th to en­able El­lenville to win.

Ma­hany had one save for the Devils. Ron­d­out Val­ley keeper Ryan Shee­han made 11 saves to keep the match tight.

“We made some un­be­liev­able saves,” Mead said. “The game would have been higher scor­ing if not for his hero­ics. He was ev­ery­where.”
