Kingston cruises to eighth straight victory

Kingston High’s surging volleyball team closed out its regular season by winning its eighth consecutiv­e match Wednesday, sweeping Valley Central 25-22, 25-20, 25-15 at Kate Walton Field House.

Tori Boulay distribute­d 28 assists and had eight aces, four kills and four digs to lead the Tiger offense, which featured the play of Shannon Bonewit (10 kills, two digs, one ace), Jaid Harrell (nine kills, two blocks, two digs) and Grace Longendyke (five kills, four blocks, thre digs) at the net.

Libero Suzy Boulay (13 digs, one kill, one ace, one assist), Tori Ost (nine digs, three kills, three aces), Sydney Jankowski (five digs, four kills), Ashly Costello (five digs, one ace), and Ashley Hintz (two digs, one ace) paced the defense.

Bridget Coddington (eight kills, five blocks, two aces), Taylor Stewart (10 digs, two kills), bailey Mahoney (six digs) and Victoria Dratch (four kills) led (412) Valley Central.

Kingston has an 11-5 record heading into the Section 9, Class AA tournament, which begins next week. The Tigers, seeded third, plays host to No. 6 Roosevelt Tuesday at Kate Walton Field House.

The final is scheduled for noon on Nov. 6 at Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh.
