A Mil­ton man stopped for a traf­fic vi­o­la­tion on U.S. Route 9W found with nu­mer­ous weapons.

A Mil­ton man stopped for a traf­fic vi­o­la­tion on U.S. Route 9W found with nu­mer­ous weapons, in­clud­ing dag­gers, brass knuck­les, a sword, a loaded “dis­guised gun” and sev­eral loaded 30-round mag­a­zines, the Ulster County Sher­iff’s Of­fice said Satur­day.

Clau­dio Amaro, 47, was ar­rested by Ulster County sher­iff’s deputies at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday and was charged with 46 felony counts of pos­ses­sion of a weapon and with one mis­de­meanor count of pos­ses­sion of a weapon.

Fur­ther in­ves­ti­ga­tion led deputies to search a stor­age unit in Lloyd which con­tained ad­di­tional dag­gers, four dis­guised guns, a ri­fle, an as­sault weapon and over 35 high-ca­pac­ity mag­a­zines.

Amaro was taken to the Ulster County Jail without bail.

Deputies were as­sisted in the in­ves­ti­ga­tion by Marlborough po­lice and the Ulster County Sher­iff’s Of­fice de­tec­tive unit.
