Eve­lyn J. (Warne) McCormick, 96, of Eau Claire, Wis.

Eve­lyn J. (Warne) McCormick, 96, of Eau Claire, Wis., went to her heav­enly Fa­ther on Thurs­day, Oct. 27, 2016, at the Heart­warm­ing House in Mil­ton, Wis. Eve­lyn was born Aug. 8, 1920, to Earl and Myr­tle (Kramer) Warne in Bara­boo, Wis.

She mar­ried Miles “Mac” McCormick in 1950 in Bara­boo. Mac’s ca­reer with F.W. Wool­worth’s took the fam­ily to Racine, Pierre S.D., Madi­son, Kenosha, Chippewa Falls, Coun­cil Bluffs, Iowa, and Eau Claire. Eau Claire be­came their home in 1975. Eve­lyn worked as a book­keeper at the Bara­boo Wool­worth’s, which is where she met Mac. She was very ac­tive in the com­mu­nity and at the Cor­ner­stone Chris­tian Church. She vol­un­teered with Meals on Wheels for 30 years and loved serv­ing the elderly. After Mac passed away in 1982, she en­joyed trav­el­ling with her sis­ter, Kather­ine, along with go­ing to quilt shows around the Wis­con­sin re­gion.

Eve­lyn is sur­vived by her chil­dren, Pat (Garry) Dish­neau, Jean (Rock) Tay­lor and Mike (Melissa) McCormick.

She was an amaz­ing grand­mother to Garry Dish­neau Jr., Adam (April) Dish­neau, David (Nikki) Dish­neau, Missy (Petri) Tarvudd, Bryan (Tasha) Tay­lor, Lind­sey (Bob) Trout­ner, Amanda McCormick and Nick­laus McCormick. She leaves be­hind 12 great­grand­chil­dren and one great­great grand­child.

She was pre­ceded in death by her par­ents, hus­band, sis­ter, grand­daugh­ter and great-grand­son. A spe­cial thanks to Kathy Lyons, who tried to keep her on track dur­ing the last few years at her home in Eau Claire, and to the Heart­warm­ing House in Mil­ton, Wis., for their love, at­ten­tion and care. We’ll never for­get the peace of mind that you gave to us and are glad you were blessed with know­ing and lov­ing Eve­lyn. Her sense of hu­mor and “no fil­ter” will be missed. Fu­neral ser­vices will take place at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2016, at Cor­ner­stone Chris­tian Church, 310 W. Polk Av­enue, Eau Claire, Wis. 54701. Pas­tor Justin Carter will of­fi­ci­ate. Visi­ta­tion will take place at the church on Tuesday morn­ing from 10 a.m. un­til the time of service. Burial will take place in Lake­view Ceme­tery in Eau Claire im­me­di­ately fol­low­ing the fu­neral service.
