Evelyn J. (Warne) McCormick, 96, of Eau Claire, Wis., went to her heavenly Father on Thursday, Oct. 27, 2016, at the Heartwarming House in Milton, Wis. Evelyn was born Aug. 8, 1920, to Earl and Myrtle (Kramer) Warne in Baraboo, Wis.

She married Miles “Mac” McCormick in 1950 in Baraboo. Mac’s career with F.W. Woolworth’s took the family to Racine, Pierre S.D., Madison, Kenosha, Chippewa Falls, Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Eau Claire. Eau Claire became their home in 1975. Evelyn worked as a bookkeeper at the Baraboo Woolworth’s, which is where she met Mac. She was very active in the community and at the Cornerstone Christian Church. She volunteered with Meals on Wheels for 30 years and loved serving the elderly. After Mac passed away in 1982, she enjoyed travelling with her sister, Katherine, along with going to quilt shows around the Wisconsin region.

Evelyn is survived by her children, Pat (Garry) Dishneau, Jean (Rock) Taylor and Mike (Melissa) McCormick.

She was an amazing grandmother to Garry Dishneau Jr., Adam (April) Dishneau, David (Nikki) Dishneau, Missy (Petri) Tarvudd, Bryan (Tasha) Taylor, Lindsey (Bob) Troutner, Amanda McCormick and Nicklaus McCormick. She leaves behind 12 greatgrandchildren and one greatgreat grandchild.

A special thanks to Kathy Lyons, who tried to keep her on track during the last few years at her home in Eau Claire, and to the Heartwarming House in Milton, Wis., for their love, attention and care. We’ll never forget the peace of mind that you gave to us and are glad you were blessed with knowing and loving Evelyn. Her sense of humor and “no filter” will be missed.
