Senior groups list meeting schedules

CLERMONT » The Southern Tier Seniors will meet Wednesday, Nov. 2, at the Clermont Firehouse off of Route 9G.

The doors will open at 11 a.m.

This month’s meeting will be the group’s annual luncheon. Members are asked to bring a covered dish or dessert to go along with turkey provided by the club. There will be a charge of $5 for each guest.

This month’s speaker will be Jim Reutenauer from Columbia Opportunit­ies. He will talk about weatheriza­tion program services.

The next trip is planned for Nov. 16 to Turning Stone Casino in Verona, N.Y. A free play bonus and food voucher is included. Identifica­tion is required.

The annual Christmas party will take place Dec. 4 at noon at the firehouse. Tickets will be available at the meeting.

People who have any holiday items for Thanksgivi­ng or Christmas they no longer need are asked to donate them to the white elephant table.

All area people are welcome to join the group. Meetings take place on the first Wednesday each month at 11 a.m. at the firehouse.

STONE RIDGE » The Marbletown Seniors will meet Friday, Nov. 4, at noon at the Marbletown Community Center, 3564 Main St. (Route 209).

People planning to attend are asked to bring a casserole to share or $3 to put in the basket.

SHOKAN » The Olive Senior Citizens will meet Thursday, Nov. 3, at 1 p.m. at the American Legion Hall, Mountain Road.

Ruthanne Miller, the town historian, will be the guest speaker. There will be refreshmen­ts afterward.

On Nov. 17 at 1:30 p.m., the group will be meeting at the Bennett Elementary School, 4166 state Route 28, Boiceville, for its annual Thanksgivi­ng Dinner. All local senior citizens are welcome to attend, but reservatio­ns are required.

HURLEY » The Hurley Seniors will meet at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday Nov. 3 in Schadewald Hall at Hurley Reformed Church.

Guest speaker will be from the Ulster County Sheriff’s Department, sharing Safeyy Driving, at home, and elsewhere. There will be a short business meeting, with sign-ups for the Christmas Luncheon, refresheme­nts, and a time of fellowship. All are welcome. Bring a friend.
