Carol A. Dougherty Kofler, 63, of Boiceville, died Saturday, Oct. 29, 2016, at Kaplan Family Hospice Residence, surrounded by her family and friends.

Born in Kingston, she was a daughter of the late George Dougherty Jr. and Edna (May) Walker Dougherty of Kingston.

Carol was a graduate of Kingston High School and Ulster County BOCES School of Nursing. She worked as a nurse at Kingston and Benedictin­e hospitals for over 37 years. Carol enjoyed traveling the world, especially on cruises, and Aruba was her favorite destinatio­n. She also enjoyed shopping, reading and scratch-offs. Carol was kind-hearted, devoted and loved spending time with her family and friends.

In addition to her mother, Carol is survived by her husband of 13 years, Robert H. Kofler of Boiceville, whom she married on May 31, 2003; a brother, George Dougherty, D.D.S., and his wife Bonnie of Scottsdale, Ariz.; one aunt, Sister Lorraine Dougherty of New Windsor, N.Y.; one sister-in-law, Marilyn Van Aken and her husband Donald of Kingston; and her dear friend, Diane Gulnick of Kingston. Several cousins also survive.

Carol will be reposing at Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave., Kingston, on Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2016, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

The funeral procession will form from the funeral home on Wednesday at 9 a.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church.

Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
