AN­CRAM >> Howard Henry Ho­tal­ing, Jr., 77, of El­sohn Road in An­cram, N.Y., passed away peace­fully on Satur­day, Oct. 29, 2016, at his res­i­dence.

A life long area res­i­dent, he was born on Jan. 12, 1939 in Copake, N.Y., to the late Howard H. and Idela (Turpen­ing) Ho­tal­ing, Sr.

Howard was a long­time em­ployee for Kim­berly Clark at the An­cram Mill.

He proudly served his coun­try with the U.S. Army and was a life mem­ber of the Cadby – Shutts VFW Post #7552 of Hills­dale, N.Y.

Howard was a mem­ber of the In­ter­na­tional Paper­work­ers Union and the Na­tional Ri­fle As­so­ci­a­tion. He was an avid out­doors­man who loved to hunt and fish.

On Jan. 20, 1984 in An­cram he mar­ried Dorothea (Grans­bury) Ho­tal­ing who sur­vives him at home.

Sur­viv­ing be­sides his wife are his chil­dren, Mar­sha Mills of Long Is­land, N.Y., Michael Ho­tal­ing of Hills­dale, N.Y., Tammy Ho­tal­ing-Has­brouck of Green­port, and Tina Gar­cia of San An­to­nio, Texas. Also his grand­chil­dren, Matthew and Gregory Mills, Lind­sie and Melissa Ho­tal­ing, Michael Du­rant, Sr., Matthew, Wil­liam III and Tayla Sill, Mandy Has­brouck and Martin Keller­house, and great-grand­chil­dren, Bre­anna and Sophia Du­rant. In ad­di­tion he leaves his sib­lings, Joseph Ho­tal­ing of Hud­son, N.Y., and Della Ho­tal­ing of Chico, Calif.

He was pre­de­ceased by a daugh­ter, Brenda Ho­tal­ing; a grand­daugh­ter, Melody Has­brouck; along with sib­lings, Leroy, Wal­ter and Norma.

Friends are in­vited and may call on Thurs­day, Nov. 3, 2016, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Peck and Peck Fu­neral Home, Route 22 in Copake, N.Y.

Fu­neral ser­vices will fol­low at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Ken­neth Ph­e­say of­fi­ci­at­ing.

In­ter­ment with mil­i­tary hon­ors will be in the Copake Ceme­tery.
