Ryan Richard Kern, 22, of Hurley
HURLEY >> Ryan Richard Kern, 22, Maple Lane, Hurley, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, Oct. 30, 2016.
Ryan was born in Newburgh, N.Y., on May 20, 1994, a son of Richard and Sandy Kern of Hurley, and Tracy and Joseph Del Villar, of Hyde Park.
Ryan was a graduate of Kingston High School class of 2012, and SUNY Ulster, where he received his A.S. degree in Nursing in 2015. He was a very quiet and caring man who loved animals, especially dogs.
In addition to his parents, he is survived sisters, Kelly Kern, Karlee North, Tanya Hitchock, Taylor Del Villar; brothers, Ryan North, Eric, Jason, Julian, and Joseph Del Villar; grandparents, Nancy and Frank Valenti of Gardiner, and Stephen and Jan Balletta of New Port Richie, Fla.; and maternal grandmother, Emily LaTorella of Highland. Many aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive.
He is predeceased by paternal grandparents, Thomas and Debra Wittekind, and maternal grandmother, Nancy Velez.
The funeral service will be held 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 3, 2016, at the Gilpatric-VanVliet Funeral Home, 339 Broadway, Ulster Park, Town of Esopus. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 3 to 6:30 p.m. Cremation will be held privately at Wiltwyck Crematory.
A celebration of Ryan’s life will be held 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 4, 2016, at the New Paltz Elks Lodge, 290 Rt. 32, New Paltz, N.Y., 12561.
