David Rosenbaum, 80, passed away on Oct. 29, 2016, at Golden Hill Health Center in Kingston.
David was an actor in theater, film and television. He had a featured appearance in the film “A Stranger Among Us” with Melanie Griffith. He was probably best known for his recurring role as an arraignment judge on “Law & Order,” for which he became known locally as “Judge” Rosenbaum. David was the founder and artistic director of The Kingston Rep, where he presented several fundraisers with such stars as Melissa Leo and Judd Hirsch.
Until moving to Ulster County in 1999, David had lived his entire life in Manhattan, where he attended the High School of Music & Art and the School of Visual Arts. He served in the U.S. Army, and he studied acting at the HB Studio.
David leaves behind his son, William Rosenbaum, and his friend and former wife, Sukey Rosenbaum, both of Lafayette, Colo. His many friends will remember David for his remarkable sense of humor and his deep love for baseball, jazz and his dogs.
