SUNY New Paltz falls short in con­fer­ence fi­nal

SUNY New Paltz women’s vol­ley­ball’s con­fer­ence play­off run came to an end when it fell to Brock­port 25-21, 25-19, 24-26, 25-14 in Satur­day’s State Univer­sity of New York Ath­letic Con­fer­ence fi­nal.

The Hawks fell to 19-14 while the Golden Ealges im­proved to 32-2 and earned an au­to­matic berth in the NCAA Di­vi­sion III tour­na­ment.

Mor­gan Roessler had 13 kills in her fi­nal match for the Hawks.

Veron­ica Mat­edero (30 digs), Mad­die Zwickl (35 digs, 16 digs) Ni­cole Fel­lone (14 digs), Anna Paulik (15 digs, five kills), Brit­tany Ty­ack (seven kills), Chantal Ramhost (six kills, three aces) and Meg Ki­nee (five digs) con­trib­uted for New Paltz.

On Fri­day, New Paltz ad­vanced to its fourth straight fi­nal by sweep­ing Oneonta 2522, 25-22, 25-12 and aveng­ing a reg­u­lar sea­son loss.
