Harpist per­forms Nov. 13 at Wood­stock church

WHAT: Con­cert WHEN: Nov. 13 at 3 p.m. WHERE: St. Gre­gory’s Epis­co­pal Church, 2578 Route 212, Wood­stock DE­TAILS: Pro­fes­sional harpist Ly­dia Zotto will per­form as part of the St. Gre­gory’s Young Artist Se­ries. Zotto’s mu­si­cal pas­sion is of wide range. A grad­u­ate of the East­man School of Mu­sic, as well as the Juil­liard Pre-Col­lege pro­gram, Zotto also re­ceived a mas­ter of busi­ness ad­min­is­tra­tion de­gree from Union Col­lege. As part of her cur­rent ca­reer, she has a stu­dio in Troy, where she teaches stu­dents of ages in ad­di­tion to study­ing for her nurs­ing de­gree at Hud­son Val­ley Com­mu­nity Col­lege. Hud­son Val­ley Phil­har­monic con­cert on Nov. 19 at Bar­davon

WHAT: Hud­son Val­ley Phil­har­monic con­cert WHEN: Nov. 19 at 8 p.m. WHERE: Bar­davon, 35 Mar­ket St., Poughkeepsie DE­TAILS: The phil­har­monic’s sea­son con­tin­ues with a pro­gram ti­tled “The Im­mi­grant Ex­pe­ri­ence.” Cel­e­brat­ing the novel “Into the Beau­ti­ful North,” which fol­lows a young Mex­i­can woman’s trav­els to the U.S. to re­cruit her own “Si­ete Mag­ní­fi­cos,” the pro­gram will fea­ture three com­posers whose work re­flects the im­mi­grant’s jour­ney. Also be­ing per­formed will be the work of one com­poser who stead­fastly chose to re­main in the old Soviet Union. The pro­gram will fea­ture Elmer Bern­stein’s “Mag­nif­i­cent 7 Over­ture,” Heitor Villa-Lo­bos’ “Bachi­anas Brasileiras No. 4,” Leonard Bern­stein’s “West Side Story — Sym­phonic Dances,” and Dmitri Shostakovich’s “Sym­phony No. 10 op. 93 in E mi­nor.” Ticket prices range from $34 to $57. Ticket hold­ers are in­vited to a pre-con­cert talk by Mae­stro Ran­dall Craig Fleis­cher 30min­utes be­fore the con­cert.
