Barbara Reid Donahue, 89, of New Paltz

Barbara Reid Donahue, age 89, of New Paltz N.Y., passed away peacefully on Monday, Nov. 21, 2016, at Woodland Pond at New Paltz, in the care of her daughters.

Born on March 2, 1927, in Tarrytown, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Robert and the late Helen Dinkel Reid. She married Frank H.J. Donahue on June 18, 1949, at St. Charles Borromeo Church, Gardiner. Mr. Donahue passed away on June 11, 1994.

Barbara’s greatest love was spending time at camp at Loon Lake.

Prior to retirement, Barbara was a dispatcher for the Town of New Paltz.

Surviving are two daughters, Kathleen and her husband Jeffrey Hartman of New Paltz, N.Y., and Karen D. and her husband Ken Kalbian of Cottekill, N.Y.; granddaughter, Lindsay and her husband Christopher Hulbert of New Paltz, N.Y.; grandson, Christopher and his wife Meghan Hartman of Red Hook, N.Y.; granddaughter, Brittany and her husband Christopher Gumti of Poughkeepsie, N.Y.; great-grandchildren, Paisley and Finley Hartman of Red Hook, N.Y., and Hadley and Grady Hulbert of New Paltz, N.Y.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her son, Peter Reid Donahue; and two brothers, Robert and John Reid.

Relatives and friends may call Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2016, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Copeland Funeral Home, Inc., 162 South Putt Corners Road, New Paltz, N.Y. Funeral Services will begin at 1 p.m. with the Rev. William L. Schnitzer, officiating. Burial will follow at New Paltz Rural Cemetery.
