City of Kingston

David A. Sterman, 52, of New Paltz, was arrested by state police at Ulster at 8:58 p.m. Wednesday on Abeel Street and was charged with driving while intoxicate­d, driving with a blood alcohol content exceeding 0.08 percent, both misdemeano­rs, and crossing road hazard markings, an infraction. Sterman was issued a court appearance ticket.

Catskill

Vivie M. Gammons, 75, of Catskill, was arrested by state police at Catskill Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. at 881 state Route 23A and was charged with endangerin­g the welfare of a child, a misdemeano­r. Gammons was issued a court appearance ticket.

Shawangunk

Nathaniel Shepard, 37, of Shawangunk, was arrested by state police at Highland at 1:08 p.m. Wednesday in Shawangunk Town Court and was charged with possession of dangerous contraband and possession of a weapon, both felonies, stemming from a Feb. 16 incident. He was held pending a court appearance.

• Contraband: Jose Caneda, 26, of Wallkill, was arrested by state police at Highland at 212 state Route 299 in Lloyd and was charged with prison contraband, a felony, and criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeano­r, stemming from a Feb. 19 incident. He was held pending a court appearance.

Town of Ulster

Liam G. Fitzgerald, 34, of Stone Ridge, was arrested by Ulster town police Wednesday and was charged with public lewdness, stalking and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, all misdemeano­rs, as well as harassment and unlawful possession of marijuana, both violations. Police said they received a complaint Tuesday from a woman who said that while in the parking lot of a local business she observed a man masturbati­ng in a vehicle parked next to hers. A descriptio­n of the suspect and vehicle were provided to police by the victim. On Wednesday at 5:47 a.m., an officer found the suspect at the same business as the previous morning and arrested him. Fitzgerald was arraigned in Saugerties Town Court and was released pending an appearance in Ulster Town Court. An order of protection was issued on behalf of the victim, police said.

• Grand larceny: Najee Paton, 28, of Brooklyn, was arrested by state police at Ulster at 11:26 a.m. Wednesday at the state police barracks at 1791 U.S. Route 209 and was charged with grand larceny and possession of a forged instrument, both felonies. Further informatio­n was unavailabl­e.

Wawarsing

Jeffrey Lewis, 61, of Brooklyn, was arrested by state police at Wawarsing at 1 p.m. Wednesday at 750 Berme Road and was charged with prison contraband, a felony, and criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeano­r, stemming from a Feb. 16 incident. He was held pending a court appearance.
