Extension has hotline to help gardeners

Cornell Cooperativ­e Extension of Ulster County’s Master Gardeners will help anxious gardeners prepare for the 2017 growing season through their Horticultu­re Hotline, which changes its hours to three days a week on March, 1.

Experts at the hotline, located at the CCEUC Education Center at Kingston Plaza, will be available to answer home horticultu­re questions Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to noon from now through October. The phone number is (845) 340-3478.

The Horticultu­re Hotline offers free researchba­sed informatio­n and advice to more than 1,000 home gardeners annually. The Master Gardener hotline provides the public with free gardening advice.

Also offered are pH soil testing for $3 and plant/ insect/disease identifica­tion for $5.
