Rondout Valley: Organizational meeting 4 p.m. Feb. 26 at the Rochester Town Hall in Accord. There will be a short informational meeting followed by board elections and regular league business. Saugerties: Registration being held 9 a.m.-noon Feb. 25 at the Senior Citzens Center, plus 9 a.m.-noon March 4 and 11 in the Main Pavilion at Cantine Field. Babe Ruth now allows 16-year-old players, in addition to 13-15 (ages as of May 1). New players should provide a copy of their birth certificate and proof over residence. New players must also attend tryouts on April 1. Returning players do not try out. Cost: $100 per player, $65 for each additional player in the same family. Kingston Cal Ripken League: Registration now being accepted for its second season. Cal Ripken League, which offers tee ball, softball and minors and majors baseball, is open to boys and girls ages 4-12, New this year is Babe Ruth Baseball for boys ages 1315. In-person sign-ups are 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturdays through March 11 at the Andy Murphy (Midtown) Neighborhood Center. BASKETBALL
Gerald W. Neal Memorial Baskeball Project: Honoring a 2000 Rondout High graduate who died in 2001. The Rosendale Town Board granted permission for the Rosendale Recreation’s Basketball Court to be named in his honor. The Committee is planning on several fundraisers to raise the quoted cost of $15,000 to refurbish the court with a new black top, striping and a plaque, which needs to be raised by May 15. The dedication is scheduled for June 3. Additionally, a percentage of donations will go to the American Lung Association in the name of Neal, who suffered from asthma. Donations may be sent care of Rondout Savings Bank, 130 Schwenk Drive, Kingston, N.Y. 12401. BOWLING
Tournament Club: Next qualifying event of the season will be held 1 p.m. Feb. 26. at the Saugerties Bowlers Club (Please be there by 12:30 for check-in). All bowlers will use last year’s average. This is a handicap tournament. Regular tournaments will be held the last Sunday of each month through March. 11th Annual RGS Team Tournament: 7 p.m. March 18 and 1 p.m. March 19 at the Saugerties Bowlers Club. 5-person teams, any combination of men or women. Maximum team entering average 1125, handicap 90 percent of 1125. Max handicap 325 pins per game per team. Highest average from 2015-16 season will be used unless 10 pins higher this season, then this year’s average will be used. Entry fee: $125 per team (bowling fee $45, prize fund $80). Saugerties Bowlers Club 4-Person Summer League: 12-week league meeting 7 p.m. Wednesdays from April 12-June 28. Organizational meeting 7 p.m. April 5. Please send a team representative. 4-person teams can be comprised of any combination of men or women. Handicap will be 90 percent of the difference between a team’s average and 900.
