Gail Ahearn, 78, of Marbletown, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2017, at her daughter Katherine’s home, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in New York City, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Rita Alpert. Gail was a homemaker until her children were grown; then she worked at Holiday Inn at the front desk, retiring after 30 years. She was a loving wife and mother, having spent most of her life caring for her family. She enjoyed her dog, Angel, shopping, dining out, knitting, crocheting and craft fairs. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family. For the last several years, she enjoyed living next door to her granddaugh­ters and spending time with them.

Gail is survived by her seven children: Gail Osterhoudt and her husband Robert of West Shokan, Katherine Farkas and her husband James of Poughkeeps­ie, Robert K. Ahearn Sr. and his wife Connie Nutter of Middletown, Pa., Doreen Naccarato and her husband Mark of Marbletown, Colleen Budik and her husband Frank of Stone Ridge, John Ahearn Jr., and Brian Ahearn. Her sister, Joy Lisk, of Morro Bay, Calif., many grandchild­ren, several greatgrand­children, and many nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to her parents, Gail was predecease­d by her husband of 53 years, John E. Ahearn, who passed in 2010.

Gail will be reposing at Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave., Kingston, on Sunday, Feb. 26, 2017, from 2 to 5 p.m.

A funeral service will follow at 5 p.m. at the funeral home.

Interment will be private.

The family requests that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society, Memorial Processing, 6725 Lyons St., East Syracuse, N.Y., or The Arc of Ulster-Greene, 471 Albany Ave., Kingston, N.Y.
