Kingston Stockade FC head coach David Lindholm announced his assistant soccer coaches for the 2017 season.
New to the staff is Ben Walsh, a graduate of Division III Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota, where he was a fouryear midfielder and helped the team to three Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference titles and two NCAA tournament appearances.
Rory Becker returns as an assistant and Chuck Wilder returns as the club’s goalkeeper coach.
“I’m delighted to have such an experienced, dedicated staff working with the team this season,” Lindholm said in a press release. “Rory and Chuck have an intimate understanding of the club in addition to their considerable coaching knowledge, and Ben brings a valuable new perspective to our group.
“All have experience with soccer here in the Hudson Valley and are committed to helping this club continue to develop and succeed.”
Becker, Section 9’s boys soccer coordinator, has spent his career working at various levels of Hudson Valley soccer. He spent six years as an assistant with SUNY New Paltz and five years as an Olympic Development Program coach and has a United States Soccer Federation A License coaching certificate.
A two-time state champion at Highland High, Becker also played at Ithaca College and with the German Hungarian Metros.
Wilder, who serves as goalkeepers coach for Vassar College’s men’s soccer program, coached at the professional level with the Rockland Glaciers of the PDL and the New York Fever of the A-League. Wilder played professionally for the Tucson Amigos, Albany Alleycats and the New York Fever during his career. He possesses a USSF C License.
Walsh led Forman School to a Hudson Valley Athletic League championship in 2014 and recently finished his first season as the head coach of Salisbury School in Connecticut. He’s earned the National Diploma coaching license from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
